Legal value & security
Kicklinks is a proof tool: timestamped, verifiable facts that can be explicitly revoked with a date and a reason.
What Kicklinks documents (and what that means)
- A state at a given time: certification is not permanent validation.
- A verifiable link between a declared identity, an asset, and observed control, depending on the proof method for that asset type.
- Traceability: status, actions, revocations, and associated technical elements.
In practical terms, Kicklinks aims to provide proof that is readable and reusable by a third party such as a platform, lawyer, expert, or partner.
Evidential value: pragmatic, not magic
- Timestamping and technical fingerprints such as SHA-256 or pHash depending on the asset type.
- Public verification: a page available without an account showing the status (active, expired, revoked) and the information needed to understand it.
- Exportable documents: certificate PDF and, where needed, revocation PDF.
A Kicklinks certificate is an element of proof. Its value and interpretation remain for competent third parties to assess.
Revocation: voluntary, traceable, public
- Never implicit: no silent automatic revocation.
- Date and reason required: the system documents both when and why.
- Publicly visible: the status change is shown on the verification page.
Important: the revocation PDF documents the revocation decision; it does not erase the past. It exists precisely to avoid ambiguity.
What Kicklinks does not do
- No automatic certification without verifiable proof.
- No silent revocation.
- No retroactive modification of an already issued certificate.
- No deletion of the public verification history, except where specific legal obligations require it.
- No judgment on the substance: Kicklinks documents observed technical facts and submitted proofs.
Security: what we put in place
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access control.
- Traceability of key actions such as certification, revocation, and document generation.
- Fingerprints to detect alteration of certified content.
- Zero-Knowledge available for certain documents (see Privacy).
No security is perfect. Kicklinks’ objective is to raise the level of proof and traceability significantly, not to promise the impossible.
Core principle
Kicklinks does not certify people. Kicklinks documents observed technical facts, at a given time, with the option to withdraw them publicly through explicit revocation.
